Vemp Open: Again, Oyinlomo Battles Agugbom For Fourth Consecutive National Title

Nigeria’s number one female tennis player, Oyinlomo Quadre, is in contention for her fourth consecutive national title when she takes on legendary Christie Agugbom in the final of the women’s singles at the 2019 Vemp Open Tennis Championship.

In the match which is a tale of present and former number one players, Quadre is expected to thrive over her vastly experienced counterpart, even though she has never admitted to having an easy match on court.

The 16-year-old youngster who has defeated every top female Nigerian player since the turn of the year, has been Nigeria’s best player by miles, and her performances on the court have not betrayed her ratings.

She comes up against Agugbom in a repeat of the Rainoil Tennis Open Championship women singles final, where the African number junior star won the first set perfectly, before her opponent retired in the second, with Quadre already leading.

In all the matches in the national tournaments that she has played this year, the world’s 197 ranked player in junior tennis has not dropped a set and she looks set to continue that streak when she plays the VEMP Open finals.

Bookmakers and tennis observers believe that she will definitely win this one without breaking a sweat.
