Wild Card entrant, Oyinlomo Quadre, was in a world of her own when she classically defeated Divine Dasam Nweke from Denmark at the second leg of the ongoing Lagos Open International Tennis Championship.
The African number four junior tennis star won the game against her opponent who’s of Nigerian descent in two straight sets of 6-0, 6-0 and will now target the downfall of Tamara Curovic, the tournament’s number eight seed, when they clash in the second round.
The Serbia & Montenegro star who was in blistering form against America’s Alexander Riley in their first round game, winning 6-2, 6-3, will have to be in her best behavior when she tackles the Nigerian teenage sensation.
Quadre, who put up a spirited display against Riya Bhatia, the number five seed from India, will fancy her chances against the Serb when they take to the Centre Court of the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan, on Thursday, 17 October.
She will seek to put behind her, the disappointment of losing out to Bhatia in the final set after such an inspiring performance.
Nigeria Tennis Live will be on ground to report proceedings of the competition to our teeming followers spread across the world.
